We chat, we email, and we surf. We rely on the Internet for researching
information before making life-changing decisions. It has become
our worldwide reference tool.
Since the Internet has become a staple in our society, IT professionals
need to keep up with Internet technologies. CIW (Certified Internet
Webmaster) certifications helps one to keep up to date with industry
standards, concepts, architecture, and design techniques. Certification
is a way we can validate our knowledge and competency.
CIW offers three Internet disciplines – Designer track,
Enterprise Developer track and Administrator track.
The first step toward CIW certification is the CIW Foundations
series. After successfully completing the Foundations exam, you
are awarded a CIW Associate certification.
You need to ask yourself, what is my career objective? If you
are interested in working with hardware, network and security issues
then you may choose the Master CIW Administrator track. Or if you
have interest in programming and application development, then
you would look at the Master CIW Enterprise Developer track. You
may, also, be considering a career as a web page designer for commercial
or non-commercial sites, and then you should consider the Master
CIW Designer track. Or if you interests fall in between the three
Master Certifications, then you would consider the Master CIW Web
Site Manager certification.
Once you have decided your career path, the next step along your
Professional trek, is for you to choose from four Master CIW certifications.
You can earn the CIW Professional designation upon passing any
CIW job role series exam. Once you complete all the exams in a
track you achieve a Master CIW designation.
